COMMUNICATION, CREATIVITY .... AND CLIL
The context in which the courses are held, Taormina, Sicily, which once formed part of both the ancient Greek and Roman empires, not only allows us to learn much about the history, culture, economy and breathtaking natural beauty of this fascinating area on the southernmost border of the European continent.
The course has two main strands:
1. Helping teachers to feel more confident in English by developing their own communicative fluency and accuracy in the use of English. This will be achieved through the participation in various task-based interactive activities, followed up by feedback and language upgrading. Post-activity tasks will often include reflection on the activities and techniques experienced in this strand, and their applicability to participants’ own classrooms (Strand 2)
2. Exploring some of the techniques and activity-types that can be used in participants’ own classrooms, including a focus on using English for CLIL.

3. Do you spend hours of preparation time planning your lessons? We'll explore some ways of using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to slash lesson planning and preparation time!

If your application is approved, the ERASMUS+ grant will cover course fee, meals and accommodation fee and travel costs. Additionally your school will receive an organisational fee of 100€ per person.

- B&B from Sunday evening to Saturday morning

Not included: Dinner on Tuesday and Thursday (individual programmes on these days)

- Bus trip to a vinery on the foothills of Mount Etna

There will be a budget in your grant for your travel costs as well:
- Your flight ( has to be booked individually)
- Transfer from airport to the hotel in Taormina (suggestion for organisation will be done by me)
- Transfer from your home to the airport
Information about the courses
To be able to follow the course successfully, a minimum level of B1 (according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) is required.
Courses are not designed for native-speakers, as there is a language development part included in the course.

The cultural aspects
In Taormina we will have a guided walking tour and visit the nearby Roman-Greek Theatre. You can have a boat trip along the Sicilian coast or visit the Gole dell'Alcantara or just enjoy the splendid view over the bay of Taormina from the pool of our hotel as well as Mount Etna.
