Il Mellieha - Cirkewwa, Malta
TEACHING ENGLISH Creatively AND PREPARING FOR CLIL

The context in which the courses in Malta are held, allows us to go back to an amazing history. Malta's location in the middle of the Mediterranean has historically given it great strategic importance as a naval base, and a succession of powers, including the Phoenicians, Carthaginians, Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, Arabs, Normans, Sicilians, Spanish, Knights of St. John, French, and British have ruled the islands! An exceptional rich history can be experienced marveling its architectural and historical monuments and UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Malta also is a popular tourist destination because of its warm climate, with about 300 days full of bright sunshine.
The course focuses on three main areas:

- developing and extending participants’ English
- a practical course in communicative methodology which adopts and encourages a learner-centred, motivational approach to the learning / teaching process. Content includes techniques for teaching the skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing
- preparing for CLIL: Content and Language Integrated Learning

The aim of the course is to expose participants to a variety of creative learning and teaching techniques as well as to develop and practise their own English language skills.

What Other teachers Are Saying

I would highly recommend this course to other teachers because - besides the well-chosen social activities-, the course contained a rich variety of methods, games, raps, songs and chants, which can immediately be used in the primary and secondary classroom. It was a great experience.
